Farm Biosecurity
“Biosecurity” is protecting the economy, environment and people’s health from weeds, pest and disease. It includes trying to prevent new pest and diseases from arriving, and helping control outbreaks when they do occur. The production of crops to supply domestic and overseas markets is important to Australia and vital to our economy. People can unintentionally carry diseases, pest and weeds without even realizing they had been infected.
When you see a Biosecurity sign, Stop. Phone the number on the sign. If told to proceed, follow the road to the Office/ Shed. Park in the designated area.
Respect farm signage and working farms
- Stop at the farm gate and DO NOT go past the visitor sign
- Ring the phone number on the sign for permission to enter the property
- Do not enter the property without permission
- Do not enter any fields or paddocks to talk to workers.
- Do not go to any houses with the sign – Private residence. No labour required.
- Do not go past any signs that state No Work / No Labour Required.
