We are proud to introduce the first Bowen Fest, a celebration of Bowen's past, present
and future on Saturday 23 August. The one-day festival will highlight the BEST of
BOWEN through dynamic local and visiting musicians, dancers and singers on two
performance stages. Food stalls serving the widest variety of tasty treats will be a
food lover's delight. The 'Global Village' market will display and sell arts and crafts
from many different traditions and backgrounds.

Young people, schools and community groups are invited to participate in making
large and colourful lanterns for our spectacular lantern parade and youth ideas for the future of our country are presented in the Aussie Jigsaw Puzzle.

Bowen Fest is being organised by the Migrant Resource Centre in Townsville, the organisers of the Cultural Fest, and is supported by the Whitsundays Regional Council.

This event will attract many regional, national and international visitors. The publicity
campaign to bring people to Bowen has already begun. The website www.bowenfest.com gives information about the event and a list of the entire program and participants will be posted on the website as they join.

We are delighted to invite you to join the Bowen Fest team by filling in the attached
expression of interest form and returning it by Friday 6 June. The information that you
provide on this form will be posted on the website and a link can also be made to your community's website.
