It's no surprise that Bowen's lookouts are nothing short of spectacular. There are two lookouts close to town which you can drive up, each giving 360 degree views of the area, and a number of other lookouts are accessable only by foot.
A trip to Bowen is not complete without a drive up flagstaff hill - the vista from the lookout is spectacular! From Flagstaff you can see all of Cape Edgecumbe bay, the North Island Lighthouse, and the other Whitsunday bays and islands.

The Bowen Shire has created a great social and family atmosphere through the creation of manicured parklands and complimentary BBQ areas.
A great example of this strategy is Case and Hansen parks.
These parks offer a wide variety of facilities such as BBQ's, basketball courts and an exercise track that wends its way along the beach following the foreshore of Queens Bay, skirts around Grays Bay, and climbs over the hill to Horseshoe Bay.
